Adopting Cats, Dogs and other Small Pets
The Dogs, cats and other pets advertised for adoption here and elsewhere on this site may have been advertised by private individuals or Pet Rescue or Pet Welfare organisations. In each case, the current owners-keepers will have their own procedure for adoption. Please remember that in the majority of cases, adoption enquiries are not handled by telephone, and may require a certain amount of form filling and a house visit. If you are interested in adopting a dog, cat or other small pet, you will generally need to make an appointment to view the animal.
Adoptable Cats, Looby, Bury St Edmunds
Information about Looby
We had a phone call in September last year from a lady in Haverhill who was moving and couldn’t take her cat with her. Luckily (as she had left it very late to let us know about this) we had a pen free and were able to take the cat straight away. Looby is a seven year old tabby female and was lucky enough to find a new home a couple of months later. Unfortunately she misbehaved herself badly. We had known that she was a strong minded character but unfortunately in the home she would only be handled on her own terms and the lady reluctantly decided that she needed a cat which was more laid back, so she has come back. Looby can be affectionate when she wants to be but she doesn’t like to be picked up and she usually only likes a small amount of stroking at a time. She would suit an experienced cat owner or we would consider homing her as an outside cat.
