Information about Alpha

Alpha has adapted really well into home life, and remains quite confident in the house! She has very quickly found comfort on the sofas and beds during the day. She’s a really social girl and likes to be with someone during the day, although at certain parts of the day will happily saunter off into another room to chill on her own for a bit.

She loves being outside, sniffing about and watching the birds! She will happily do jumpy laps around the garden because she is happy taking in all the smells. She is definitely a working setter in nature and has been known to freeze on the spot during a walk while she susses out the birds and wildlife. Otherwise, she is really good walking on her lead and at the moment, doesn’t pull at all. She seems to understand how far she can go on her lead and is very happy to not try to pull past that! Her foster home have let her off lead in an enclosed field and her recall would need work as she’s still engrossed in everything else, but she’s very happy on a lead on daily walks and enclosed fields are a great treat for her. She adores her walks and is still very active and loves stretching her legs in a secure field. She’s very intelligent though and picks things up quickly. She is also food driven which has already helped with training.

She’s a real softie around people at first, offering her belly immediately for some strokes and really loves getting some attention. She loves a stroke and a cuddle, when she’s just getting to know people she’s quietly confident around them. She has been great with visiting children in her foster home and she’s good with other dogs, will give polite sniffs but isn’t over bearing at all. Young bouncy pups can be a bit much for her but she would really enjoy a resident dog in her new home. She happily greets her humans with such excitement when she seems them each morning with bouncy zoomies. She is very much enjoying discovering the life that she missed out on for 8 years and is lapping it up!
