Information about Nico

He has a wonderful nature, is very handsome, funny, cuddly, a big baby really, but also needs a strong owner/personality. Both my wife and I have been training him to walk on a loose lease but he’s too powerful for my wife now who has suffered injury and neither of us feels confident to let him off the lead, he appears to have absolutely no recall despite training. I think they call it a high prey drive, even a leaf blowing in the wind is something to be chased after. He needs someone who can give him all the exercise that he needs.

He has zero aggression towards people and does not resource guard with people, but has no experience around toddlers and children so must be adult only home. As for other dogs, he reacts with uncontrollable excitement at the prospect of even saying hello, he is quite dominant in dog terms, which can look like aggression but we believe it is high excitement and for this reason he must only go to a 1 dog home and to someone with experience of reactive dogs. Toys are high value, especially soft toys or blankets and he has shown aggression to his sister who is exactly the same age as him when competing for them. This aggression towards his sister has now become a serious problem, even without resources, the dynamic seems to have changed and he is trying to usurp her as pack leader.

We don’t have pedigree papers for him, but he is microchipped. All his vaccinations are up to date and he takes a regular course of worming and flee tablet.

We love him dearly and it will be heart breaking to let him go but both him and his sister deserve better.
