Information about Tess

Tess is a bouncy, lively KC registered Swiss Shepherd. At the moment she lives in a busy home with teenage children, cats and 2 other dogs. I brought her from a registered breeder when she was 5 months old. She is a member of the healthy pet club at the vets so is up to date with her vaccinations, kennel cough, flea and worming.
Unfortunately she had not been well socialised as a puppy so even though she’s happy with the animals in our home she does react to dogs she doesn’t know when out on walks. We have been working with a licensed dog trainer, initially introducing the clicker and then moving onto location training. The training is going very well because she’s a very intelligent girl, food driven and desperate to please her favourite human. She’s bouncy to begin with when on lead, when free running her recall is excellent.
I believe Tess would suit a family with older children or no children. I only say this because she’s so big and full of life. She shows typical shepherd traits, becoming very attached and clingy to her one human so someone experienced with this breed would be beneficial.
I am her special one person and I love her very much so I’m finding this extremely difficult. Unexpectedly, I am pregnant and don’t have long to go before the baby arrives. Tess is so attached to me that I don’t believe she will want to share me with a baby and my family are no longer willing to support Tess’s ongoing training due to work and college commitments.
I need to do what’s right for Tess and she deserves someone’s full attention and time which I can no longer provide.
